The 2018 Audi Q3 is a fantastic crossover with plenty of features and a spirited drive, but it still can’t match itself head-to-head against the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA without appearing underpowered and underequipped. When it comes to the luxury crossover segment, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is in a class of its own.
It’s rare for a vehicle to deliver more power than a competitor while achieving strong efficiency scores, but the Mercedes-Benz GLA does just that. It comes with up to 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque as standard, with an optional 375 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque upgrade. The Audi Q3 makes 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, with no option to upgrade.
Rounding out the Mercedes-Benz GLA powertrain is a 7G-DCT 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Unlike the Audi’s basic six-speed, it uses one clutch for odd gears and one for even, so the next gear is always preloaded for seamless performance. It also makes up to 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway — better than the 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway offered by the Audi.
You’ll find more features provided as standard with the new Mercedes-Benz GLA, but available technology is what’s really going to tempt you away from the Audi Q3, with features including:
The new GLA brings a wealth of standard and available safety features to ensure perfect peace of mind across the roads of Kerrville and Fredericksburg, including:
Those are state-of-the-art safety systems, but they aren’t available with the latest Audi Q3 at any price.
The Audi Q3 seldom disappoints, but it never reaches the lofty heights set by the Mercedes-Benz GLA. You can apply for financing today using our handy online form, or contact us for assistance.
